White Sands 2

White Sands National Park in southern New Mexico is one of the most otherworldly and visually striking landscapes in the United States. The park is home to the world’s largest gypsum sand dune field, stretching over 275 square miles in the northern Chihuahuan Desert. The dunes themselves are an astonishingly pure white, made up of gypsum crystals, which gives the area its dazzling, almost surreal appearance.
