Myakka Oak 4
Myakka State Park has a unique subtropical Florida ecosystem, with a mix of plants and trees. You find these canopy areas where the oaks grow in and around palms, and what stands out to me is how each oak feels completely its own. In this image, the foreground oak creates an almost umbrella effect, layered with ferns and growth, and then there's another oak in the distance. The way the limbs reach over that tree makes me think of a puppet master, like they're somehow connected, yet still distant from one another. Then the reflection changes everything. It doesn't flood there often, but after enough rain and storms, the water rises and suddenly you've got this mirrored world under the trees, adding another layer to the scene.
