I've been wanting to experiment with exposure speeds on alligators for a while. Here, as the rain begins to fall, I used about a third of a second, just long enough to soften the water without losing the feel of those raindrops or the gator's rough texture. The reflections form these circles, light on dark, dark on light. And that interplay, kind of echoes the balance I was chasing between calm surface and subtle motion
